Meet: Dany Lyne, Set and Costume Designer
Dany has designed 72 productions in Canada, the United States & Europe. Her collaboration with director Peter Hinton in 2005 at the Stratford Festival resulted in the highly acclaimed Into the Woods. Dany is proud to have created work for and with many respected companies and artists. Some favourites include director Nicholas Muni: Macbeth (2002) and Pelleas et Melisande (2000), and The Maids, The Emperor of Atlantis, La Voix Humaine, Seven Deadly Sins, Medusa, and Elektra at Cincinnati Opera, (USA) 2002-2004. With director Tim Albery: Rodelinda at the Canadian Opera Company, 2005; Nathan the Wise at Soulpepper Theatre, 2004; Idomeneo at National Reis Opera (Netherlands) and Opera North (England), 2002; and The Abduction from the Seraglio at De Vlaamse Opera (Belgium), 2001. With director Catherine Malfitano: Madama Butterfly at Central City Opera (USA), 2005. With director Tom Diamond: Norma at Pacific Opera, 2004; Facing South and Iron Road at Tapestry New Opera Works 2001-2003, and Giasone at the Canadian Opera Company, 1998. With director Daniel Brooks: Half Life for Necessary Angel Theatre and Tarragon Theatre, 2005, and Phèdre for Soulpepper Theatre, 2003. With director Jeannette Lambermont: Henry V, Pride and Prejudice, and The Miracle Worker at the Stratford Festival, 1997-2001.
Dany has just returned from the Burning Man festival in the Black Rock Desert, Nevada. In her one week there, sharing in the creative energy of the thousands of people who come together to build a city of art, she has been inspired, amazed and changed - and she took over 2000 photos!
Dany Lyne is the winner of the $100,000 Elinore & Lou Siminovitch Prize for 2006, Canada's largest annual theatre award.

Meet: Jock Munro, Lighting Designer
John (Jock) Munro has worked in Canada, the U.S. and Europe in the fields of theatre, opera and dance. His 25-year design career includes credits in most major theatres across Canada, with over 50 productions for the NAC. Most recent productions include Arms and the Man, Vaudvilles of Chekhov, Mary's Wedding, Vinci, and Twelfth Night. For the Stratford Festival: thirteen seasons, most recently, Three Penny Opera and The Scarlet Pimpernel. For The Canadian Stage Company, Toronto: ten productions, most recently, Boy Gets Girl and Habitat. Jock has extensive credits at The Manitoba Theatre Centre, The Grand Theatre, London, Theatre New Brunswick, Neptune Theatre, and the Canadian Opera Company. For Les Grands Ballets Canadiens: eleven world premiere ballets, including the critically acclaimed La Dame de Pique. Jock's long association with acclaimed choreographer Edouard Lock includes creations for the Netherlands Dance Theatre, L'Opéra National de Paris, and LaLaLa Human Steps productions of Salt and Amelia. Mr. Munro is honoured to have been appointed Associate Artist in Residence at the NAC.
Jock is contracted to do upcoming productions of Pélagie for Can Stage/NAC, Dido and Aeneas/Coffee Cantatas for the Canadian Opera Company and Risque and Lumière for Fortier Danse Creation.

Meet: Christina Poddubiuk, Set and Costume designer
A graduate of the National Theatre School, Ms. Poddubiuk
has been working as a costume and set designer at theatres
throughout
North America for over twenty years. She has been the recipient of
several
major theatre awards, including a New York Drama Desk award and an
American
Theatre Wing award as part of the design team for the Broadway
production
of Jekyll and Hyde; a Tyrone Guthrie award;
a Tom Patterson award; and a Sterling award. Ms. Poddubiuk has
earned
five nominations for a Dora Award and participated in the Canadian
Entry
in the 1999 Prague Quadrennaile.
Ms. Poddubiuk began her career in close association with the Stratford
Festival,
designing costumes for more than a dozen productions, including the 2000
Hamlet
with Paul Gross. She has also worked extensively with the Shaw Festival,
designing
costumes for Candida and creating costume and/or set design for
many productions
including Picnic, The Man Who Came to Dinner,
Heartbreak
House, The Madras House, Lady Windermere's Fan and
The
Chocolate Soldier. Recent designs include Mary's
Wedding at the National Arts Centre, A Streetcar
Named Desire at Manitoba Theatre Centre, Plan B at
the Tarragon, and The Tempest for the Oregon Shakespeare
Festival.

Meet: Marc Desormeaux, Composer and Sound Designer
Composer, singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Marc Desormeaux hails originally from Timmins, Ontario. He has written music and produced soundscapes for numerous productions in most major theatres across Canada and more recently in Europe. Credits include Romeo and Juliet (Stratford Festival), The Drawer Boy (Mirvish Productions/MTC/National Tour/Vienna English Theatre), Zadie's Shoes (Mirvish Productions/ Factory Theatre), Twelfth Night and Travels with my Aunt (NAC), Proof (Citadel/MTC), and A Room of One's Own (Shaw Festival, National Tour). Marc's multi-media musical Cyberia was presented in the NAC Studio in 1997. As well, he co-created and starred as Chet Baker in Time After Time at GCTC. Upcoming gigs include Boy Gets Girl (CanStage), Last Romantics (NAC/CanStage), The "Vaudevilles " of Chekhov (NAC) and The Taming of the Shrew (Stratford Festival). Award nominations : Dora Mavor Moore, Jessie Richardson and Pauline McGibbon Award.

Meet: John Pennoyer, Set and Costume designer
John Pennoyer has clothed Dracula, Cinderella, Shylock, Willy Loman, Violetta, Hamlet, the Emperor of China, Jenny Lind, Mr. and Mrs. Macbeth, Dr. Thomas Stockmann, The Walrus, and a well-traveled, multi-spirited polar bear. Sometimes he has also provided their surroundings. These ephemeral visions have been available in theatres and opera houses in Canada, Great Britain and the United States for twenty-five years. Montreal born, Mr. Pennoyer is a graduate of McMaster University and trained as a designer at the Stratford Festival.

Meet: Laurie Champagne, Stage Manager
Laurie Champagne is very happy to return to the National Arts Centre to continue her association with both the NAC and Marti Maraden. Ms. Champagne has stage managed many shows here for the English Theatre department over the past twenty-five years including, most recently, The Winter's Take and The Secret Garden. She was the Production Stage Manager for the Shaw Festival for 15 years, and has worked with the Stratford Festival, Theatre Calgary, Theatre New Brunswick, The Grand Theatre (London), the Blyth Festival and Festival Ottawa.
