Célébration does indeed celebrate a national monument, The Fathers of Confederation Memorial Building in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, which opened in 1964 as a tribute to the men who had met in that city one hundred years for the Charlottetown Conference. This building is also the site each summer of the annual Charlottetown Festival, which continues to present Canada’s longest-running musical, Anne of Green Gables: The Musical, every year since it first opened in 1965.
