Maurice Strike

Maurice Strike studied at the Wimbledon School of Art in the UK. After beginning his career in theatre there, he emigrated to Canada in 1967. Maurice Strike’s association with the National Arts Centre Theatre dates from the tenure of Jean Roberts as NAC artistic director of English Theatre, from 1971 to 1977. Maurice Strike designed Tango (1971) and The Rivals (1972). His designs for the Shaw Festival (Niagara-on-the-Lake) were also seen at the NAC in the 1970’s.
